2022 Fall Conference

The 2022 Fall hybrid conference was a fun weekend for all who attended. November 11-13, we had 35 youth join us in person, and more joined virtually for three sessions on Saturday afternoon. This conference was located in Roanoke, VA at the Tanglewood Holiday Inn Hotel. The team worked hard to make sure that everything was ready! Sixteen youth were involved in the planning and co-facilitation of workshops throughout the conference.

The theme of this conference was “Level Up,” with specific hands-on and interactive life skills workshops using a video gameplay style approach. We provided incentive-based level up system with tickets to move up to the next level for youth engagement throughout the life skills sessions.

This conference keynote speaker was Jenna Zibton, local news anchor with WSLS 10. She spoke to the youth about her coverage on their 30 days of Hope segments that highlight foster care stories to public as well as she develops stories and the behind the scenes to the news station.

The next conference will be in the Spring of 2023.
